Apartments in Zakopane, the capital of the Tatra Mountains
From Germany you can fly to Krakow and take a rental car or use the bus or train to get to your apartment in Zakopane. Zakopane is one of the southernmost cities in Poland and lies at its highest point 1,130 meters above sea level. On foot you can explore the city very well. At the streets you can see many beautiful wooden houses, which were built in the so-called Zakopane style. Here the architecture of the Gorals was combined with modern Art Nouveau accents. Today, the first house designed by architect Stanislaw Witkiewicz, Villa Koliba, houses a museum that provides impressive information about this interesting architectural style. Ambitious hikers will walk part of the almost 3,000 kilometre long “International Mountain Trail of Friendship Eisenach-Budapest”, which also leads through Zakopane and offers breathtaking views of the High Tatras landscape. If you love expressive views, take the funicular railway that leads up to Mount Gubalówka. At about 1,126 metres above sea level there is a viewpoint and a small settlement with shops, restaurants and a small chapel.
Ski holidays start best in the private apartment in Zakopane.
If you spend your ski holidays in a private holiday apartment in Zakopane, you have made a good choice because in recent years the city has developed into a hip ski destination that is not only popular with alpine skiers, but also with snowboarders and freestylers who have discovered the ski resorts of Gubalowka, Kasprowy Wierch and Nosal for themselves. Countless kilometres of pistes lead through impressive snowy landscapes and challenge ski enthusiasts to impressive performances even on black pistes. Not only downhill skiers will find their Eldorado here, but also tobogganing and cross-country skiing specialists will get their money’s worth. And after a great day of snow you can meet for après-ski in the huts, in Zakopane or in the restaurants of the smaller villages in the surrounding area. The following season you want another ski resort to score with you? How about a suitable Apartment in Železná Ruda, to discover the Czech ski resort Spicak Zelezna Ruda?
