HOTELS, APARTMENTS, HOSTELS AND VILLAS IN OSLO
The city of Oslo is the capital of Norway, but it is also the country’s largest and most productive city. In European terms, Oslo is a relatively young country – founded in 1048. And the city was only appointed the country’s capital in 1300. However, Oslo lost its status as the nation’s capital during Denmark’s union with Norway. The city has had a turbulent past at the heart of conflict and a huge fire that destroyed the original settlement in 1624. Modern-day Oslo is now one of Europe’s most affluent, modern cities, and you can now immerse yourself in local life by renting your holiday accommodation with 9flats.
Private and Luxurious Holiday Apartments in Oslo
Oslo is home to dozens of historical sights, museums and galleries, and one of the most prominent is the Munch Museum – a collection of paintings and artworks from the famous Norwegian artist. The theme of classic Norwegian art is continued at the National Gallery, which also features a selection of prominent works from some notable international artists. If you feel like taking a break from sight-seeing, Frogner Park is an excellent place to do so. This serene and picturesque area of inner-city greenery is perfect for picnics, leisurely strolls or kicking a ball around with the kids. The park also features a selection of sculptures from the famous Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland. And if you fancy stretching your weary muscles, the Frognerbadet is a swimming centre with three different pools and a water slide for the kids. Renting a holiday apartment in Oslo in the area will provide you with the comfort and seclusion you are used to at home – perfect for recharging your batteries after a day spent sight-seeing.
Holiday Accommodation in Oslo Gives You the Opportunity to Immerse Yourself in Local Life
No visit to the city of Oslo should pass by without a visit to the Royal Palace. Located on KarlJohans Gate, the royal residence is open to the public during the summer months, and it is packed with priceless works of art and centuries of history. Close by is the University of Oslo, which features the Universitetets Aula – a magnificent space that hosts regular concerts and 11 of Edvard Munch’s paintings. A trip to the Opera House is a must, as its unique, award-winning design is an attraction in itself. Oslo also enjoys a lively night-life with dozens of bars, restaurants and night-clubs to enjoy. Norwegian life is best sampled at close-quarters, and a holiday apartment in Skoyen will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the local community.
Couchsurfing in Oslo Just Became a More Luxury-Filled Pursuit
The couchsurfing phenomenon gives travellers the opportunity to find affordable accommodation in real residential neighbourhoods. The service provided by 9flats is similar, but it adds the elements of luxury and privacy, and that means you can live in your very own holiday residence with all the modern trappings of life at your fingertips! So, whether you’re in search of holiday accommodation in Tuverud or private accommodation in Berlin, 9flats has all your holiday bases covered.
